Tuckertown Lake, Badin Lake and Lake Tillery are all located within a few minutes drive of the Inn and offer a multitude of opportunities for boating, fishing, swimming and other water activities. Hiking, Equestrian Trails and other outdoor activities are available at Morrow Mountain State Park and the nearby Uwharrie National Forest. Morrow Mountain State Park is bordered on two sides by Lake Tillery and covers 4,425 acres in the Uwharrie Mountains, the oldest mountain range in North America. Morrow Moutnain?s facilities include a large swimming pool and bathhouse, picnic areas, rental boats, a natral history museum, hiking and nature tails, an amphitheater and a re-creation of the historical Kron House where Dr. France J. Kron lived in the early 1800?s.

The Badin Inn Resort and Country Club (formaly the Stanly County Country Club) in Badin has a beautiful, well-maintained 18-hole championship course, swimming pool, tennis courts and a clubhouse. Piney Point Golf Club, is a semi-private club in Norwood, boasts an 18-hole course and modem clubhouse. Fifteen minutes from Albemarle lies Uwharrie Point, Home of the Old North State Club, the state's number two golf course, and the new Tillery Tradition golf community.
